Great Spirit Song (2006)

for Treble Choir, optional Native American Flute and Soundscape (8:56 minutes) [setting of a native American prayer to the Great Spirit in pentatonic scales of four native American flutes; this piece has five short sections, honoring the Spirits of the North, East, South and West and concluding with the Earth and Sky together. The soundscapes include synthesized additional native American flutes and drums, and birds and animals from the locations in the sections; commissioned by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild.] FW
